under construction

if you click on the thumbnail to the left you can see a comparison of the views from my balcony in october 2000 (on top) and june 2004 (on bottom). as i moved to different apartments in my building the view is slightly different, but you can see a lot of the changes that have taken place over the past few years.

notable differences include the completion of all seasons place, the largest real estate investment project in thailand. to the right of all seasons place in the distance one can see that construction of the world trade center towers has restarted under the name central world tower. lots of the green space between sois 2 and 8 is filling up and you can a very large building under contruction on soi 6 and another one on soi 8.

real estate prices have recovered in the past 12-18 months and this is fueling the current construction boom. although the property brokers and the government keep writing bullish articles, it looks like the market won't be able to sustain all of the new buildings coming online in the next year or so.
