corkscrew balloon (+elephant)
what would you do if you inherited a huge family fortune that allowed you to live comfortably and do anything you want? alf erickson was in such a position- he chose to live in various suites at the oriental, buy a fleet of balloons to participate in ballooning events around the world, collect corkscrews, visit odd museums, and compete in the annual bangkok elephant polo tournament with a team of katoey (team name: the screwy tuskers) among other antics. his newest balloon (he is always looking for the 'newest in hot air') is called the patpong corkscrew club, with an giant logo on the side of a naked vixen riding an elephant whose midsection forms into an enormous corkscrew. click on the elephant to enter alf's world.

I watched the screwy tuskers play at last year's jumbo polo, and interviewed them afterwards. One of the katoeys had a rather embarrassing moment when a fake boob fell out of her top midway through a chukka. Poor girl.

a katoey is a ladyboy. In Thailand 'katoey' can mean anything from a post-op transsexual to a guy who likes to wear a bit of make up.
if i inherited a fortune, i'd buy a nice yacht and cruise the waters with family and friends.
there's about a million other things i'd do, but the yacht is at the top of my list. :)
sofya- somehow i vaguely recall the boob incident- alf might have written about it on his website. did you interview alf as well? seems like quite the character!
greg- as sofya says... it's a transsexual. the girls on that website aren't girls- look again!
pete- sounds nice, though i'm not too keen on water (see my 'another reason to stay on land' blog). i think i'd buy a nice big property on the beach in phuket where i'd live during the winter and travel round the world during summer.

Katoey is Thai speak, its ladyboy like me, Im thai ladyboy.
many type of katoey, some operation and some eat hormone some cut it off.. ouch some make breasts big with operation, this is called post-op ladyboy, not have operation ladyboy called pre-op ladyboy.
