concerts in thailand
thailand gets some big tours coming through every now and then- i saw linkin park in june (more pics here) and the red hot chili peppers last year. seems that queuing up for tickets isn't a big thing here, so if you buy your tickets on the morning of the first day you can get great seats.
thaiticketmaster.com takes care of ticketing for most major concerts and they have outlets in bangkok, like in central chitlom, where you can go to buy the tickets. their website shows upcoming concerts like the eagles (yawn) and blue (nooooooo!!!!).
for local music thaipoppers.com lists concerts and gigs by thai bands like blackhead and silly fools. for most of the smaller places tickets aren't needed but get there early as the places often get really really packed.
in other news, i read that mcdonalds in france is being promoted by the olsen twins. maybe i'm a bit sensitive to these kinds of things after watching super size me, but one of the twins was just treated for anorexia. not sure she's the best spokesperson to be promoting big macs!

Regarding Thai Ticket Master, for those buying tickets from the web, its a good idea to go very early to get your ticket before hand. I went 1 hour early to the Scorpions Concert to get the ticket I bought online , it took me about 20 minutes. I wonder about those peeps that just came on time.
another reason to get to the concert early is parking- muang thong thani gets really really full. when we went to linkin park i had to park very far away, though we did manage to stop for a frappucino along the way
