hazy days
i took this photo out of my window at around noon last weekend. there was an incredibly thick haze in the city all weekend- i thought it was pollution but one of our office staff insists it was due to a 'thermal layer inversion'. umm... sounds good to me!

I remember that every 4 days in Beijing, it's a nice clear day. I had a Chinese guy explain to me that every 4 days a big wind blows through the city and gets rid of the build up of pollution. And then the cycle starts again.
I have no idea if it was true, but it's a great theory!
