shanghai at night

i met him in a swamp down in dagoba, where it bubbles all the time like a giant carbonated soda, s-o-d-a soda
the giant thermometer says its just above freezing...

i saw the little runt sitting there on a log, i asked him his name and in a raspy voice he said yoda, y o d a yoda, yo-yo-yo-yo yoda
but there's still a queue of people waiting to get into pizza hut.

well, i’ve been around, but i ain’t never seen, a guy who looks like a muppet, but he’s wrinkled and green, oh, my yoda, yo-yo-yo-yo yoda
and kfc is as busy as ever.

well, i’m not dumb, but i can’t understand, how he can lift me in the air just by raising his hand, oh, my yoda, yo-yo-yo-yo yoda yo-yo-yo-yo yoda
though the 'fake kfc' isn't doing as well.

well, i left home just a week before, and i’ve never ever been a jedi before, but obi wan, he set me straight, of course, he said, go to yoda and he’ll show you the force, well i’m not the kind that would argue with ben, so it looks like i’m gonna start all over again, with my yoda, yo-yo-yo-yo yoda yo-yo-yo-yo yoda
nanjing road lit up in neon.

so i used the force, i picked up a box, i lifted some rocks, while i stood on my head, well, i won’t forget what yoda said, he said, luke, stay away from the darker side, and if you start to go astray, let the force be your guide, oh, my yoda, yo-yo-yo-yo yoda
shoppers brave the cold weather for an evening stroll.

i know darth vader’s really got you annoyed, but remember, if you kill him, then you’ll be unemployed, oh, my yoda, yo-yo-yo-yo yoda
the many lights make nanjing road brighter than in daytime.

well, i heard my friends really got in a mess, so i’m gonna have to leave yoda, i guess, but i know that i’ll be coming back some day, i’ll be playing this part ’till i’m old and gray
the jw marriott looking like a crashed zentraedi ship.

the long-term contract that i had to sign, says i’ll be making these movies till the end of time, with my yoda, yo-yo-yo-yo yoda yo-yo-yo-yo yoda
one of the many buildings shown off using colored spotlights. nearby my apartment there are even multi-colored tree lights.

I have a hunch that KFC in different parts of the world will have different tastes due to localization. I wonder if that is true.

Are the original KFC there in China different than the ones in Bangkok? Just curious.

At least it would be better than Chinese Fried Chicken... CFC. Where are you off to now, Rick Hunter?

Hi. Nice blog!

By the way, just FYI, except for the outside appearance, the "fake KFC" chain is not an imitation of KFC. It is called "Yonghe Dawang" and sometimes "Yonghe Doujiang" and it specializes in Chinese food, such as "doujiang" (bean soup). The menu has nothing in common with KFC at all. Nor does the inside appearance of the place.

I would have to say that KFC does taste different depending on where you are. I personally perfer Singapore KFC over North American KFC - it's spicier. They also have mashed potatoes with gravy there!
