portable gaming technology, 1991 vs 2005.
the turboexpress may have a deficit in speed (7.6mhz vs 222mhz) and overall capabilities, but it has an accessory not available to psp owners- the 'turbovision' tv tuner. one can tune into a selection of 3 or 4 channels while trying not to poke out a bystander's eye with the 'rabbit ears' antenna.
i wonder what these gadgets will look like in 2019.

I still have my TurboGraphix18 too. Honestly, I think some of those games are better than the crap that's coming out today. To this day, I still get Neutopia II music in my head, and I must have played Dragon's Curse like, a bazillion times lol. And of course, Bonk's Revenge. I heard something about that coming out for Playstation, actually. Interesting : )

Mmmmmm Creamy PSP Goodness. Are the games easy to come by in Shanghai? What sort of price? They average 1800B in BKK now.
I assume you have seen that hackers now have ISO running from memory sticks? It'll soon be complete... can't wait (I have gigs of ISO sitting here waiting!)
laura- sounds like you had a lot more games than i did. of the games i had, air zonk was my favorite. i agree with you that some of the classics are better than the stuff out today. at the end of the day it's all about gameplay- if it's not there then pretty graphics don't help.
him- i bought the system when i was in america on a business trip. the games are available here in shanghai but they are about 25% more expensive. i hadn't seen that news- i'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone figures out how to make copied umd discs.
Ahh TurboExpress, how I always wanted you. Of course it doesn't exactly fit in the pocket. Honestly I think it was never surpassed until the GBA SP.
